Surrender

Miranda Alexander

Ashamed, she cowers in her crying corner
The blame, oh the brutal blame falls upon a single name,
She is far too weak to tame,
Tangled temptations alone
Her wide blue eyes fail to hide,
A rich remorse rattling deep,
Within frail walls and shallow halls
How many more lies,
Can such a hollow frame bear?
What shall she do,
When secrets break to light?
Shaken, she slips into the narrow night
Her heart, her mind, her soul longs to flee,
Flee from grievous pain,
Flee from judgmental glares,
Flee from nightmares that plague her mind
Love, step out of the shadows,
There is no need to lie,
Awake with darkness
You shall be safe in my embrace,
Cast chaotic fears aside
Never shall I let you fall
With a tear tattered face,
She abandons her lonely place,
And surrenders her crippling faults to the wind
